Insurance fund

A USDC fund fed by 10% of every fee, held apart from trading, and reserved to make users whole after a hack or exploit.

Role of the fund

The insurance fund does not absorb liquidation losses. Those are carried by account margin, the AMM vault, and auto-deleveraging (Margin and liquidation). The fund exists only to make users whole after a hack or exploit, deployed at the team’s discretion.

Fund terms

The fund receives 10% of every fee after maker rebates and holds it in USDC, apart from user funds, vault capital, and operations, with no size limit. The balance grows with every fee and falls only when the team deploys part of it after a hack or exploit. The balance and every payout are public.
